As great as the 16" M1 Max is (and the screen and speakers are truly gorgeous), sometimes I really wish I'd gone for an Air or a 14" MBP. It's so heavy and bulky that I rarely find myself carrying it around and using it like a laptop. Besides the screen being a little less sharp, and the memory being less powerful, is there really any other downside to the Air versus the MBP? I think they don't have fans either, right? But if I'm not doing heavy duty rendering and video processing then does that really make much of a difference? I got a solid sale price on the M1 Max but it's probably overkill for my needs. I like to future-proof (I tend to not upgrade laptops for about a decade or so), but still could have saved $ with the Air.
