Not worth it ordered and ended up returning it asap
Is it really worth $65+ to start? The first alternative recommendation is $40 and has more options.
Baseus Laptop Docking Station Dual Monitor 4K@120Hz, 9 in 1 USB C Hub with 2 HDMI, 1000Mbps LAN, 100W PD, 3 USB, SD Card Reader, USB C Dock Compatible with iPhone 15/Mac/Dell/HP/Surface/Steam Deck https://a.co/d/btnIW5X
Here's a link to the deal I found https://www.ebay.com/itm/386420533387. It arrived basically brand new. I lucked out because a lot of the used docking stations I noticed do not come with the power adapter. Not a huge deal because many of us have a few extra lying around, but you have to know the correct barrel jack size.

*(As an aside, I was considering buying a Cable Matters dock that didn't have an adapter, so I contacted Cable Matters to ask for the correct barrel jack size and they actually offered to send me a power adapter. Even though I was buying used and wasn't buying directly from them. I was very impressed with their customer service.)

The thing about eBay vs Amazon is that urlhasbeenblocked a bit of work to get a good deal. Here's what I suggest. Do an eBay search for what you're looking for (for me, I searched for 'Thunderbolt docking station'), then narrow your filters by what is most important to you (price, features, brand, etc.). Save that search and keep checking it. FYI, during my research I decided that the best brands for me in terms of features and price were J5Create and Cable Matters.

Two ways to find good deals on eBay are to:

1) Sort by newest. Often times, a great deal will be posted but you won't see it because you're scrolling through items that were posted days ago.

2) When you find something that you like, but maybe the price is a bit too high, add it to your watchlist. eBay alerts sellers that one of the their items has been watched and often the seller will make an offer of a lower price to entice you to buy because they know you're at least thinking about it already. You can even make a counter offer.

Good luck. I hope you find as good of a deal as I did.

This gets so close... If only they included a USBC port other than the PD port

Nah, not really worth it. I researched a bunch of docking stations and ended up just buying a used cable Matters USB-C docking station for $30. 10Gbps USb, SD & MicroSD slots, ethernet, HDMI. There's a ton of decent ones on eBay. A much better value.

It looks like you're mostly paying for the cable compartment in the cost of this.

I'll be honest, it's a really cool feature.

It's just a shame the actual inputs are too underwhelming to make this worthwhile.

I have a feeling Slick now means people shadow posting for the sellers and MSRPs that are only that way so when you see it on sale you think you're saving enough to justify it. Not knowing it was the actual MSRP the whole time.

I miss dangerous and legally dubious Slickdeals.

They're incentivized affiliates, no doubt.

But what is this MSRP you speak of?

When it's all coming from AliExp, the price on Amazon is simply the convenience cost of getting it in 2 days instead of 14+.

Except mine could not handle single 4K@60Hz monitor for more than few hours - would just go blank. MAC compatibility is also meh despite their claims.

The newer version ($48 currently) has an extra USB c port and most of the other port speeds are upgraded as well.

Reminder to AMD Linux users, you need Display port in your hub. You cant get high refresh over HDMI. We should all use DP actually, it's a free open sources standard where HDMI is not.

Ordered this last year.

I own one and it has issues with HDMI port + ethernet ports.

The HDMI port stopped functioning + the ethernet port drops regularly.

Be very aware when you buy it + test it so you can return it. I bought it directly from JS and got screwed.
