LCD display? No thanks, but hard to find those internals for less.
I agree that the screen type is an important difference. I'm in the minority that prefer the LCD version that doesn't have PWM flicker. LCD is also less susceptible to image burn-in than OLED.

I got the renewed 256gb version of Tab S8 for a little over $300 a month ago. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BWFS9LRS
Price fluctuates, right now it's closer to $400.
S8's LCD screen is not as vibrant as my old Tab S6 AMOLED. But I wanted LCD to avoid burn-in during gaming.
Fudging great deal with an Tab S8! I have the Tab S8+ 256 gb model and its amazing. I stuck a 512 gig SD card in it and love everything about it. You're better getting this tab S8 than a tab S9 FE for the same price range.

I have P11 pro Gen 2 OLED never any burn issues. I'm praying Lenovo releases another OLED after the support runs out on these devices

Got the s8+ 128gb for 549.That is the other deal, only on graphite color in both cases. I think the kid would like a wider screen for gaming. Since it is expandable memory, 128 gb will be just fine. Thanks OP.
