The plastic Swingline I purchased in 1994 for $5.55 with 5000 staples is still going strong, though only about 600 staples remain. The 5 year old 3-hole punch, though, is probably due to be replaced after much less than 4400 pages.
Just need to get the order over $35 for free shiping...
It's so crazy, I went to Staples to buy a Swingline stapler years back and every color was $11.99... Red one was $22.99... Yeah, I bought the red one lol. Apparently they painted one red for the movie and later on Swingline started selling a red one because of the movie haha.

Surprised they're not selling typewriters, telegraph keys, and horses & buggies...
I can't remember in the last 20+ years when I needed to 3-hole-punch anything. I might need to staple something once or twice a year, for the backwards luddites who require such things. I might print something 1-2 times a year that's not a shipping label. And even those are being phased out for digital QR codes at dropoff points.
It's 2024. We're in a digital world now, and bygone vestiges such as these are a waste of precious limited natural resources. And if you absolutely needed one of these, I'm sure they can be found second hand for pennies.

Do we really need more 3 hole punches in the world?
