Nah. Meets all major specifications for the newest engines. But have fun paying extra for the big brands so they can continue to bombard you with advertisements that make you buy their products and make you (wrongly) feel superior for having done so.

The mechanics, atleast two that I know with great reviews, who previously allowed to bring my oil are now hesitant and infact mentioned this is the last time. There are citing liability as a reason as though this wasn't the case all these years. After this experience I decided I would never buy my own oil.
Sounds like they just wanna upcharge you on their oil.

Anyone have first-hand experience with storing unopened oil for longer than a year?

My friend has a 04 Corolla he has put 120k miles on the past three years. He bought the car with 120k miles it just hit 240k. He uses Kirkland and super tech synthetic every 3k miles. We pulled the valve cover to redo the head gasket 20k miles ago and the inside looked like new. It was so clean and not terrible wear. This oil is top notch. I would trust 7500 mile intervals.
120k in 3 years? Is he a long distance Uber driver?

YMMV. My point was for one item only aka going to Costco just for 1 thing. Nobody practically does that during Costco. Nobody.

Instead Costco shoppers pick up other things beside this which would make this deal worth considering.
I did that last week. I guess I'm a nobody but that's OK because I hear that nobody is perfect

No 5w20 at my two local stores. I guess I'll have to order online.

The ultimate best oil (~$29): having MB 229.51 + BMW LL-04 + VW504/507 + Porsche C30 = This is low SAPS oil, which is going to burn cleaner, less carbon deposits
The better oil (~$26): ACEA C3 + some 2 or 3 more qualifications like MB 229.51 / BMW LL-04.
The base oil (~$22): ACEA C3.
The budget oil (~$18): API SN <-- This is the Kirkland.

It depends on how many miles you drive per year. For example, I drive 15,000 miles annually and require 3 oil changes. If I use 'The Ultimate Best Oil' instead of 'The Budget Oil,' it will cost me around $33 more per year theoretically (although there are often motor oil deals or promotions, so the actual cost is usually less than $33)

For me, I always choose 'The ultimate best oil' for any car I own, no matter how many miles I drive. It worth the price as it burns cleanly, performs better in the long run, and reduces wear and tear on any engine component.

This oil is better than some of the oil the lube guys use. They still use conventional oil even at dealers.
