A 300-nits 240Hz 100% DCI-P3 QHD+ display is average to you? You need to educate yourself.

The 4080 jump from the 4070 is pretty significant this gen. If main priority is gaming, I would go with this Alienware.

I don't think your 1300 nit phone is going to be bright enough on the sun either though...

Here is the manual for anyone interested. According to this, the max memory setup is 64GB 5200MT/s. Also has 1 M.2 2230 SSD slot and 2 M.2 2280 SSD slots.

I just bought one of these and wow, what a piece of junk!
- No Win10 driver support (Wifi does not work)
-Screen flickering
-Awful basic BIOS, worse than Legion
-Annoying whiny fan that always runs even on silent mode
-Constant stuttering in games
-Fan control software sucks compared to Legion
-Dell driver software sucks
-BIOS update continually failed

I'm returning now. Would NOT recommend

Low quality screen. Very dim at only 300 nit brightness. To compare most phones are 1000+ nit brightness. I'd recommend ASUS, Acer for MSi and stay away from Alienware

Ye makes no sense. Aren't Ryzens supposed to be efficient and the dGPU inactive? The screen isn't crazy bright or OLED either. With 86 Wh this thing should have Macbook-tier battery life outside of gaming. Either Nvidia or Microsoft or AMD or Dell screwed up in the pipeline. Or all four, which is somehow plausible.
It's probably always set to high performance mode in the power options

$1800 + tax - 10% dell coupon =
$1739 - 10% AMEX off Dell =
$1565 - $200 AMEX Plat Business Dell Credit =
$1365 - $200 AMEX Plat Business Dell Credit (Player 2) =
$1165

Got it yesterday and set it up. So far screen seems fine. I hooked FFVII Remake up to my 4K TV and it was excellent on there. I like that the GPU is not active when doing normal browsing stuff.

I had gone to a Best Buy to lift the m18 and it was just too heavy for my taste. This m16 was just right. The power brick is a monster though.

For anyone that purchased this, I noticed I also got 4,875 in dell reward points. These expire in a couple months so use them quickly!

One thing you might want to get with the points are thermal pads for the other two SSD slots, as the laptop does not include thermal pads for the empty slots.
