I try to avoid posting any silly Chinese brands. I mostly post items directly sold by Amazon and they usually do not have obviously Chinese brands.

I've just checked this brand [hooyman.com] and it seems that it is part of American Outdoor Brands [aob.com] (though I agree - it still sounds silly).

Picked up 1 at harbour freight 2 weeks ago with 15% off came out to be like 21 or something regular price of similar item in store is 25 $.

These are particularly good for breaking through b-base. And occasionally for chipping some concrete. It's somewhat effective for breaking through the ground for digging... But I can't see the average person really needing one that often.

oh I see the picture showing it used in snow, I guess that's the other use that I wouldn't know about. don't see much snow in the south.

If your yard is root bound, digging deep enough to plant / replace bushes requires either a pick or something much more expensive. A sharp spade will not get the jobe done.
