Been researching for a spreader and this was the most recommended one on reddit. This was the lowest I could find.
You can also make use of the 10% cashback deal from chase that ends by 4/14/2024 to bring it down further.

I'm curious…

How is a $11 dollar savings on a $150 item a Front Page deal?

Operate a lawn care company. Been using a few of these spreaders for a couple years now for the business. These are leagues better than any Scott's spreader and cheaper than more heavy duty commercial spreaders so around mid range. As long as you keep them clean and dry it'll last awhile.

Been looking for a sale on this model for a long while. I'm sick and tired of the fertilizer striping on my Scott's spreader.
Thanks to whoever recommended looking at the chase card offers, I was able to get the 10% off Home Depot offer also.

As others have mentioned, I have had my eye on this for over a year and this is the only time it hasn't been full price.

For those of you that have this model, have you found a good conversion chart for application settings? I typically use Jonathan Greene fertilizer and they have Scott's settings in the bag and Lesco does the same thing. Curious if anyone has found an accurate Scott's to Echo chart. Thanks.
I have this model and use Jonathan Greene too. I think I had to go down one setting, b/c it wasn't covering the sqft. amount the bag claimed. So if I remember correctly, Scotts setting was 6 1/2 and so I did 5 1/2 to get more coverage, but I will just step down 1/2 next time. I think 6 will be the sweet spot. [ Just make sure you're sqft. coverage is close to the product amount, otherwise something is off, like the setting, walk speed, etc. ]

My current one from Scotts (an old, cheap one) is just way too short IMHO. It kills my back. Anyone over 6 feet tall have issues with the handle being too low on this model?
I'm 6'1" and have used this spreader for 3 seasons on a hilly 1 acre lot. In fact, I just did two rounds on the front half of the yard last twice last weekend (overseed and fertilize) and no, the handles have never felt too low.

I'm in the market for a new spreader. My lot is less then a 1/2 acre though. Will this size be overkill for my need?

Also, does anyone know if it folds down for easier storage?

Just bought one. I really could have used it yesterday. The wheel on my Scott's Easy Green fell off eleven times while I was putting down Barricade. Not fun when you have 40 lbs. in the hopper!

Yes, it does. You can see the knob just to the left of the hopper in the thumbnail. The entire handle folds down. There's a good picture of it over on thelawnforum.

Yes to rubber tires that don't trap granules and cause striping.

Yes to a folding handle for storage / transport.

The manual has a Scotts to Echo setting guide and there's also one on the back of the spreader. They're mostly the same until you get to the higher numbers.

Yes to an easily set, and effective, one-sided blocker for going around beds and driveways.

On a smooth yard, it takes some shaking to keep the granules going to the discharge once you get to the bottom pound or two of granules, which is frustrating. Still better than any Scotts spreader I've had or used in this regard.

Mine throws a little further right than left. I've not really noticed it causing a problem with uneven performance on the lawn, but I'm always nervous it will.

Even with the two minor frustrations, this is still the best spreader by far at this price point. It's not even close. For a few years during/after 2020, you couldn't even find these at Home Depot. I thought this post was just an in-stock alert, and would have appreciated it. The people complaining about only $10 off and blaming shills for this post must be apartment dwellers.

How is the agitator on this?

I like to put down soil amendments such as lava and green sand, but they clump very easily, making me have to fill just a little bit and shake vigorously to keep it spreading.

I bought one of these a couple years ago to replace a Scott's Elite spreader that didn't make it through two seasons. I got my Scott's Elite at a Slick Deal price and hated to pay full price for this Echo, but it was worth it. My Scott spreader was just frustrating. This Echo spreader has been great. It disperses the fertilizer much better than the Scott's Elite. It is a sturdier product, too.

Eh at least for my purpose, I am on .25 acre and feel like it would be a hassle to do with a hand spreader. It is really nice to not have to stop and refill several times which I would have to do with a hand spreader. That being said everyone has a different use case. For the posts asking about where is the deal here, I would have appreciated stumbling on this when I was first in the market for a spreader and not wasted money on Scotts spreaders earlier on.

Yes, to each his own. The push type are way more work. Also at 1/4 acre, I fill 4 times and waste zero fertilizer which is over $50 a bag now. I have lots of landscaping with beds and boulders where pushing a spreader doesnt work. Its nice to simply walk back and forth aiming it exactly at what you want including flower beds. You hold it low or high to modulate width, or grab a handful to throw at tree. I will never go back...

I have this after trying several of the Scott's spreaders (different price points) and this blows all of them away. Buy once, cry once instead of buying a cheap spreader you're going to hate using.

For those that have this model, are the tires rubber or plastic? Thanks in advance!
