These are good snacks for hiking. Taste is pretty good considering what it is. Pineapple is one of the best flavors.

*Dehydrated pineapple. I personally buy whole pineapples on sale for $1 and dehydrate myself, but a half pineapple pre-dehydrated and packaged for $1 is actually not bad.

Half of a $3 pineapple is the core, rind, and stem, which leaves ~1lb of edible pineapple (about 80% water) after chopping it up, and goes bad in a week. Half of a pineapple, cut, dried and packaged for you for $1 seems like a good deal.
