Never heard of Luna before today. Interesting idea. I just tried it and it was somewhat laggy. 6/10
They say the perfect review doesn't exist...
I love my kids but man I miss gaming. I don't have enough PTO to go on the 3 week trip across America my wife is taking the kids on and I am going to use that time to take my newly fixed PS3 and play some old games that I bought 15 years ago.

That's how far my backlog is.

I'm 38 hours in on FONV and loving it! I've played this game and the DLC on the PS3 and the gameplay is just as good if not better. I recently played it on PS Plus a few months ago, as it was just added to their lineup of free games, but sadly it didn't have the DLC. Fist time on the Amazon platform and it works great after connecting a PS4 controller, tried my PS5 controller but is did not map the L1 or L2 buttons so it was not playable and I didn't want to pay $60 for a Amazon controller. Much faster load time compared to PS Plus and no crashing issues. Highly recommended! Awesome free game for folks with an Amazon account and an old PS4 controller. Looking forward to playing FO3 as well with all the DLC. Both games are free until 10/10/24. I believe they added it to get people to watch the new Fallout series but I'm just here for some old school gaming.

These are regularly on sale for less than $10 a piece with all the DLC, they're both great games, and are worth at least that, also I believe both were free at different points on Epic.

I guess you can't argue with the "free" here, but them only being temporary and I guess Luna is cloud based? which could also lead to an extra layer of problems for already legendarily buggy games, just doesn't seem like a deal to me, but I guess that's up to each person to decide.

Also there have been a lot of rumors lately that Fallout 3 is getting a remaster, yet another reason this isn't much of a deal.

It's crazy tbh. I worked for a cloud gaming company 6 years ago with a similar browser based service (we just wrapped it in an application so it didn't seem like it was a web browser).

With companies with the resources like Amazon and Google I'd assume they'd have this nut fully cracked, but they're only marginally better performance wise than our rinky-dink startup.

I tried it for 2h. First time I've used Luna but used GFN (founder $5/month) a lot, especially during covid. Also used stadia a lot before it went offline.

Intro/video at the beginning, yes 6/10 lag at times.

Actual game, very good, 9/10. Minimal lag. I had to adjust mouse sensitivity by about 30% in the game settings.

Using a i5 chromebook with 2 external screens. One screen for game and one game for another browser. 800Mb/s internet.

As a side note; I saw fallout 4 is on GFN (using steam license) and not Luna. Will revisit that after fallout 3.

I have played the Luna version for the past few days and originally would have recommended it since it played well. But lately these became the reasons of not recommending:
1. At time the game would quite without warning, causing me to lose progress unless I keep saving all the time. Otherwise there are times the game would play very nicely. I have a pretty capable desktop that can play recent games at high settings but don't own this game.
2. I couldn't find the option to export its save files. My account (through amazon) shows zero games with options to export save games. You could be looking at spending lots of time playing and just end up losing all those due to Luna owns your saves and they're not letting you have it.
3. A side note. I've played Fallout 4 for a long time before stop playing. On my current setup, I always feel a bit dizzy maybe due to the details rendered but not on fallout 3 through Luna. Not sure if it's due to the lower levels of details or lower frame rates. More recent games take care of that better, maybe with only focusing the center and defocus surroundings etc.

I actually have Assassins Creed 1 and 2 for PC. I opted to play AC1 on console because the controller support wasn't great. Instead of telling me to hit the a, b, r2, or whatever button, it just had a jump or hit icon and I didn't love the button icons. If AC2 is better, then I'll probably play that on PC.
