After adding Delta Skymiles as the preferred partner, does that mean any Hilton stay points will be routed to Delta instead of staying as HHonor points? Or do you keep the HHonor points as well as earning Delta Skymiles?
Great, in addition to near worthless hotel points, they'll give you near worthless airline miles!
(Frankly, you should be aware that although the nominal values of Delta and Hilton points/miles are low, they have their uses. Just know that other points are nominally more valuable, like AA or Hyatt.)

Not worthless if you use the points on their hotel rooms. I've been a Diamond member since 2016. Each time I stay, combined with promotions, I clear between 6-10K bonus points alone, not counting whatever I get with my AmEx card.

Skymiles are garbage. Anyone who collects these is a sucker lol
They're not the best, but if you time it right you can definitely get some value. The trick is not to use them for a local puddle jumper but for something like international business class when they have a promotion

Exactly my point, "look ma, 10k points!"
People don't dig into the points valuations to realize that in general you can expect .5cpp from Hilton, and 2cpp from Hyatt. Between 10k Hilton and 2.5k Hyatt doesn't Hilton *feel* better? It shouldn't.
Overall, these hotel chain programs return about 20% of value when using their respective credit cards. Don't be fooled by the nominal valuation of points, like "40X promo!"
As someone who has taken many free Delta trips with sky miles your comment shows your ignorance.
Yep. I've traveled for nearly free all over the world thank to skymiles earned when I was working in Asia for a few years going back and forth about 15x each year. Just pay the tax is the rule. South Africa, Nepal, Patagonia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Japan, Thailand, Singapore ... just pay the tax and govt fees for those trips.
Sometimes they had international RT flight deals with just 35K miles. Other times, it is 50K or 75K to get somewhere. If you work even some of the bonus angles, the miles can add up.
Once I ran into a man paying locals to fly in Asia because the points earned for each ticket were 3x the cost of the ticket for each person. He had 5 people flying with him just to get the miles. I think that's a bit crazy, but he said he did it 3 times the prior week too. After a few weeks, that bonus trick didn't work anymore.
I don't tend to stay at Hilton properties, but may choose to in a few personal upcoming trips to conferences in May and June. Just depends on the total cost when following their booking rules.
