Be prepared for a failed drive in a couple of months of light usage. Kingston is known for making unreliable drives.

Got it from same place for $69.95 back at the end of NOV 2023. Been an OK drive, no complaints.

Why is this posted on SD when this is now clearly a rip-off with the increased price?

Because Slickdeals makes a percentage of our purchases. It doesn't matter to them if it's a good deal or not, by creating the idea that it's a good deal, people make purchases and Slickdeals earns revenue.

They didn't even include the price history on this post, like other post have a price history.

That was a Black Friday price. That doesn't make the current price a rip-off. It's currently $132 at Amazon.

Doesn't look like it based on a review I found with photos.

Most of those reviews sound like it could be the enclosure or even the cable, not the drive itself.

If they're just using a standard M.2 drive in it, you could put it in a better enclosure.

Also, I'm skeptical about reviews that claim they're "backing up their entire life's photos" on a solid state drive.

Clearly, they didn't do their homework and would have been pissed off in a couple years when data starts vanishing. No doubt, they'd still blame the drive.

It's a myth that SSD loses data when left unplugged for a prolonged period of time: https://www.pcworld.com/article/4...r-all.html

Ssd prices are up. Manufacturers have been adjusting the market by lowering production
