Why is this posted on SD when this is now clearly a rip-off with the increased price?
Because Slickdeals makes a percentage of our purchases. It doesn't matter to them if it's a good deal or not, by creating the idea that it's a good deal, people make purchases and Slickdeals earns revenue.

No bc ssd prices have increased a lot in the past few months
Most of those reviews sound like it could be the enclosure or even the cable, not the drive itself.
If they're just using a standard M.2 drive in it, you could put it in a better enclosure.
Also, I'm skeptical about reviews that claim they're "backing up their entire life's photos" on a solid state drive.
Clearly, they didn't do their homework and would have been pissed off in a couple years when data starts vanishing. No doubt, they'd still blame the drive.

If they're just using a standard M.2 drive in it, you could put it in a better enclosure.
