WTF is that abomination? And it uses D cell batteries!

I might buy it but I've been successful at completely eliminating C and D batteries from my life and don't plan on going back.

It'd be a rude awakening when a 1.5 pound flashlight falls onto your face from a light breeze :'D

I have 2 of these for camping. I use an adapter. It uses 2 rechargeable AA for each D size. Works well, but usually doesn't last through the night.

I have this....and I'd agree. It is an abomination. To be fair I bought it 10+ years ago when there was still a few devices that used D batteries outside of the Smithsonian . Fan not very powerful nor is the light.....BUT does last forever and ever and ever on a pair of decent batteries. I assume because of the D battery capacity.

Personally I think any use case would be better off with a light AND fan. Not something that does neither well.

I have one of this. Do not buy.
The build quality is not good. You won't be able to seal the battery cover easily

I have one of these for several years. Just be aware that the battery cover could be broken easily.

My adapters hold 3 AA batteries. You should pick some up to increase your run time.

Thanks, both of you. If that's the main problem, I have plenty of duct tape. Ordered one.

Google it, or search Amazon: D AA battery adapter. I haven't used one yet so I have nothing to recommend, but you'll find plenty to choose from.

Yeah. Agree. Both my mine have same issue. I just put a piece of tape, electrical, to solve the problem. I like the light and fan for camping. Using it for about 3 years going 2-3 times each year. My wife use if for out door events. For the price, it is not bad.

Same, and agreed.
Plenty of inexpensive rechargeable battery operated fans that work so much better. This thing is flimsy (The plastic holding the fan to the hinge broke after one camping trip, I had to super glue it back together) and takes expensive batteries. If you intend to use it often, get something less flimsy and rechargeable. If you intend to use it infrequently, expect to have to buy new batteries for it every time you use it so get something... rechargeable. There is no justification for getting this thing, no matter the price.

I have two of these fans that I have used for camping over the years. Never had one fall but I would not buy them again. They are very clunky.

If you like to tinker AliExpress sells inexpensive "USB to D Cell Battery Eliminator Cable" that lets you convert the battery connector to a USB connector you can plug into a USB battery power bank or wall charger. This would let you use this fan/light in your USB environment. Perfect for van life.

You can get personal rechargeable fans on Amazon or Walmart all day long for ~$10. I'd advise that route. Especially if you already have rechargeable battery packs
