That's why I always do SWA. I live in Atlanta and never fly Delta.
I guess it's a way for other airlines to make up costs.
I like the free snacks/drinks too. Also it's nice that you can easily cancel / change flights with Southwest too. Free texting (Whatsapp and Apple Message) in flight and free movies/TV shows too.
We have their credit card to also earn points. Plus once in awhile they run the free companion pass promos. A companion flies free w/ you.
Probably my favorite airline. I think they did rub people the wrong way years back with their computer glitch that caused cancellations during the winter holidays. People didn't get home for Christmas. It worked out for our family though. We were in San Diego and were able to get a free hotel, food, car rental for an extra week plus future flight credit vouchers out of that whole ordeal. Basically extended our vacation by a week for free.

I've been flying 5-6 RT per year with SW since 2018 and haven't paid a single dollar for a flight. I consider the Christmas meltdown a small price to pay, though I'm sure there are many for whom it was much more of a problem.

On April 8 for a June 4 trip
On April 9 for a June 16 trip
On April 10 for a July 1 trip
On April 11 for a July 22 trip
And I switched three of the flights to a better date/time, and one of those to a different airport that is a co-terminal. One flight is the only one that will work, so I didn't change that one. The record also says you can make a change two times, which is nice in case I want to shift any of these again.
After the fourth email, I booked a couple of August trips on the cheapest available flight in a two week window, but so far no changes to August.
I was really hoping for a change to a trip in May that I booked in Feb. and want to shift a day earlier, but I guess it's too late for that one at this point.

I see this week end the prices for long weekend are going up, I'm not a frequent flyer.
Wondering if there is any chance the rates go down during weekdays?
