Move to the next option.

Old technology is not the reason there is so much inventory which is driving the price down. Google rolled out a firmware update last year that really screwed the mesh functionality. I was such a fanboy for these devices until 6 months ago.

I am running 3 routers in a mesh topography. 1 main and the other 2 are APs. Why? I needed the ports for the APs.

I am in the process now of running MoCA backhauls to the 2 APs and hopefully that provides an acceptable workaround., this was rock solid until the latest firmware.

On a separate note, I have a 2800sqft 2.5 story house and with just the 1 router on one side of the house, I get 90% coverage

Why even use MoCa? You have concrete walls?

The Google Nest Wifi Router seems to be a solid option for those in need of a reliable home network solution. The AC2200 speed provides decent performance for everyday use, and the Snow color option is a nice touch for those who prefer a minimalist aesthetic. However, I've noticed some occasional connectivity issues, especially when multiple devices are connected simultaneously. Overall, it's a decent router for the price point.

I have concrete walls and bricks. It's a PITA. The signal for outside is abysmal. I have 3 APs and one main. Even then, I feel a need for one more in the kitchen for patio access. The house is 2800 sq 2 stories. Wifi 6 might be a better option, but I went with what was inexpensive.
Also, I have arlo plugged into ethernet on the main router. Since there is only one ethernet port, I can't run a cat6 wire directly between two units.

They aren't crap. I had two. They're decent routers but I wouldn't pay $50 for one as they have no value. I upgraded to the Pro model and these were cut off from being compatible with those.

If I was on the market for this model I'd go on Facebook Marketplace or eBay. You can probably land one for $20 or under. Second hand markets are flooded with them killing their resell value. They're pretty much worthless to resell so you can do way better than $50 buying one.

How did it mess it up for you? I am running a couple of routers in a wired back haul- haven't had any issues lately - wondering what all the fuss is about. Seems solid

Worst product. Everytime during internet or power outage, its nightmare. need to reset network every single time after outage. It wont restart automatically.
