    I literally finished it on Netflix last night. Great show but I would say The Last Kingdom is slightly better.

    They're extended, more explicit. I originally had the 4-season set from Canada (it was much cheaper at the time and the show was still making new seasons) and got this US set when it was cheap. I was able to compare episode lengths and confirm a few known differences as reported on a cesnorship website. You have to be careful when comparing the episode lengths—sometimes the extended version has a shorter runtime because the other editions have a recaps of prior episodes.

    I found Athlestan to be the most compelling character. I didn't make it through too many more episodes after he was gone.
