I went to a free charging station first. Seemed like it was taking too long. Went to a paid one and there was a line. Went back to the free one. Realized it was going to take until 4am to get around half charged. Went back to the paid one and waited in the line.
I was there until 1am to get it charged to 70%. Filed a BBB complaint and got refunded for the rental. Really turned me off to EV's.

Agreed that some degree of pre-planning is needed when renting an EV away from home. We still make it work, I strongly prefer to drive EVs these days.
