Short term outdoor storage to me means up to 7 days parking
With a lot of these cheap covers if you leave them on the car for too long without taking it off the fabric gets stiff and fails a lot sooner. So if it's on a car you regularly drive (at least every week or two) so it gets taken on and put on frequently it will last longer.
