a bit of a let-down that home depot turns up zero results for the hapf600 replacement filter - although amazon has four for $33

Seems like a great deal. Especially given the 225 CADR and large square footage

EDIT: after doing some more research, found this is quite the energy hog compared to my True Air Hamilton Beach (admittedly much smaller machine)

According to Amazon answer from Holmes person: " The approximate power consumption: Low - 60, Medium - 90, High 120 Watts. Thank you."

My True Air is about a 8/17/34

Yeah these Holmes units aren't that energy efficient but they appear to last awhile. Aside from the fact I've had one running for years with ease this one comes with a 5 year warranty.Some of my winix units are starting to make this annoying noise and it's happened to 3 of the 8 I own. There energy efficient and cost at least double this when new but only come with a 2 year warranty.

Thanks OP. Good find. I have the same exact issue with my half dozen Winix air purifiers starting to making a high pitched whine after prolonged use. I'm convinced they were designed with a "time bomb" in mind. I'll get a couple of these Holmes units to see how well they work.
