I bought the black version a week ago. Like it says, it is an open box article, but looks like new

Yes it is expensive, but just bought one last week in black for my iPad air and it is a quality product. Very sturdy and has substantial weight to it (both a plus and a minus), My only complaint is that it is the keys are a little cramped when compared to my logitech bluetooth keyboard (and this refers to the keyboard that was designed for my smaller ipad Air so probably does not apply to this model), so it took a few days to get used to (at first I was frequently typing on the wrong keys). Bought mine from Amazon 1-2 weeks ago for ~$265 (now $259). Now my decision is whether to return mine and buy an open box for $189. If it was not open box, I think I definitely would....now I will think on it a bit. By the way....I did not see the "open box" part in the title listing of this post and probably should be there IMO.

A flimsy keyboard for like $200? You, people, have been had.
There's many things you can deride this keyboard for, but being flimsy is not one of them.

That is correct. It is well designed, and quite sturdy. It would be a bargain probably at $150, perhaps worth it at $200 and a bit overpriced at $250 IMO, but I am not sorry I bought it, even at $265.

Slickdeals users have gotten a bit ridiculous in recent years. Just because you can find something cheaper, does not mean that it is of equal quality. You can buy a high end car.....which gets you from point A to B just like a bottom of the line car.....but not all customers will be happy driving the low end car. That is why they make cars in every price range. Yes, the law of diminishing returns suggests that you pay more for smaller and smaller amounts of improvements as you go up in price and yes, perhaps Apple customers pay a premium for the Apple name, but having used many keyboards with my ipads over the years.....I think I would still chooose to use this magic keyboard over the $85 Logitech bluetooth one I bought 2 years ago. (and that one does not travel well, does not act like a case, nor does it allow it to act like a stand for my iPad, which really enhances the function of the iPad. The charge outlet is smartly designed as well, as the instant connection to the iPad as soon as the magnet attaches itself to the iPad. Not to put down any car models, but this is perhaps the Mercedes of keyboards as compared to the Kia of keyboards. Different kinds to satisfy different users.

Lol I bought a $10 Bluetooth keyboard and mouse that works on my Air, people are crazy to spend that much on a keyboard.

If you're satisfied with a $10 keyboard then that's great but you are not the target market for this. I have issues with this but the overall experience is unmatched.

This is 100% true. Those who trash anything without validity are FOS from the get go. All they do is ensure the world revolves around them..

On this thread, the Magic Keyboard is legit. It practically useful especially the 12.9" variant. I have big hands and had this one in black and bought it on Woot for $100 years ago. It does what it supposed to do. The one I got for $100 was previously used but idc. I didn't have to listen to those FOS users
