These really need to be on a hard, flat surface when you're adjusting weight, or else the plates don't line up correctly. The stand also has holders for the round 2.5 lbs inserts that are used for fine adjustments. Keeps them from rolling away, toppling over or getting misplaced.
These EXPpand to 90s. The last one don't
I own these (all 3 phases) and the stand. I've had for about 5 years and had no issues and like them very much. I've used them for cleans and the weights have stayed intact. I'd buy again if I didn't have them already.

Is the bench stable or wobbly?
Stable for me at 5'10, 250lbs. I like its size, allowing for shoulder movement. Also it's adjustment range and foldability.

Some reviews say wobbly, but mine is very stable and its thin design allows for shoulder movement. I weigh 250 lbs and have had no problems with its stability at all in a variety of positions

I had the Bowflex 552s, traded for Powerblock Pro 50s, and I have some hex dumbells laying around the house.

After all of my dumbell expereinces, If I had to recommend any one of these options, if you have the space, I would get the hex dumbell set. Enough screwing around with knob adjustments and pins. Id rather just grab the weight and put them back on the rack. Its probably cheaper too if purchased at Costco etc.

Hex dumbells feel so much better in the hand compared to Bowflex AND Powerblock. The odd shape of both adjustables are always more awkward feeling. They also dont feel as durable.

I dont think i will sell my Powerblocks - but if i had a chance to to back in time, i would just get the rubber hex dumbells.

Screw adjustable weights. They are too gimmicky.
Sure but those hex dumbells take up a lot of space and are a lot more expensive.

Even when I'm out of shape I start out at ~50lbs for some exercises. I have powerblocks that go up to 100lbs and it's compact and it cost me $750 for the set. To get a set of hex dumbells up to 100lbs it's going to take up a lot of space and cost more than $2000.

I have all the space in the world but I still like the PowerBlocks because they can be adjusted wherever without a cradle so they're easy and they're compact. There's nothing "gimmicky" about that.

Each one comes as a pair. My order total for all 3 last time was $443.52, shipped.

This is a really good deal, but I prefer my colored set for obvious reasons.

From what I can tell the pair of 90lb Bowflex ones go on sale for around $600 from time to time. no farking around with expansion or whatever. this "deal is $220+90+90 x 2.
I own Bowflex 552's and my cousin owns the Powerblocks. I prefer the Powerblocks, tbh. I think the 552's are bulkier/longer, plus I always worry about dropping them.

I just tried for shits and giggles and they actually WILL work to my surprise. Just make sure your Elites stage1's are the NON usa ones.
