many people? i only found 1 example of someone dying, and apparently it was because of a bad battery that exploded while the guy who died was holding the flashlight in his mouth. the end cap got lodged in his throat and he suffocated. that was also a different flashlight that uses a different battery
I also carry one in my pocket as part of my keys and have for the past 3 years. The top has never come off a single time. IMO there's enough of a 'twist able range' to be usable as an on/off function, while still not fully unscrewing itself off in one's pocket.
I think some people wrap teflon tape around the threads a few times to tighten it up a bit.

Don't forget to spin the virtual wheel to get 50 O-coins and then use 30 of them to save 15 cents (plus tax in some greedy states that take shipping). Also, 6% at Mr. R or might be higher if you use others.

I have this and the uv light version. Both are neat and well built but the screw on caps do come off in your pocket as a previous commenter had mentioned. Olight will replace the light under warranty if it falls off and you cant find it. Now, just wish they would stop spamming me after repeatedly unsubscribing from their email list..

Thanks, wish I knew this sooner

When I read this reply I went from:
That's a really good idea, to
I should of thought that, to
Why DIDN'T I think of that.

Then I'm unfortunately reminded my brain doesn't work that way.

Still baffles me how it kept coming off on the first place.

Also why I like slickdeals. I learn so much from the comments.

I like these lights but the top unscrews very easily in the pocket if you carry them daily.

I was usually able to locate it each time it came off. Even secured the top with tape to prevent it from unscrewing.

Until that one time....now I only have the empty cylinder.

Personally wouldn't get these again because of that, just FYI.

I've had the same experience. Is a very good sized light and is very bright for is size. But in the year or so I carried it on my keys the top probably came off in my pocket half a dozen times. Then again I didn't try anything to solve it so done teflon tape on the threads might have helped, but definitely a weakness

I've never had this problem, and I carry it on my keychain daily. Maybe you have a bad one? Mine are all firmly secured.

There were two versions of that i3e EOS. The original had a shorter head that did fall off more easily. That happened to me. The newer revision has a slightly longer head that gives extra threading to stay on better.

I don't understand these deals. Do I need to buy something to get this? How do people seem to end up only paying for shipping and getting the free light every time deal comes around but I can't check out with just the free light?
