I use a ceiling mount so I had to order an adapter from Epson for $10. https://epson.com/Accessories/Pro...V12HA40AA
It's super compact, a little wonky with the inputs (would have preferred a dongle to plug in cables rather than to the side of the box). Speaker is pretty decent tho I use ARC to a BOSE soundbar. Only has two HDMI, of which one of them is lost to ARC, so have to have an HDMI switch for more than one input source. Fan is present but very faint, only really notice it when accidentally turned on, which is a plus for me.
Keystone is a PITA but eventually I made peace with it. Since I just keep it at home, I bought an 84" "raise from floor" projector screen at Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VSI0API) for $200 (now $255), and also an adjustable laptop stand, placed it on a small table over to the side of my room and honed it in to fit and focus on the screen.
Since the light is coming in from an angle, focus is slightly compromised but I found an average that isn't really noticeable. Since it's reflective light and not a massive laser, it works best in a dimmed room, but I can watch it fine mid day with curtains closed, my screen is in front of the windows and blocks a lot of light. I can keep a dimmed light on directly behind me and images are still highly viewable, it's not the strongest light but it's very good for a controlled area.
Used an 8K HDMI for ARC, since I had a 25' run to the sound bar which I mounted under the windowsill behind where the screen is raised. Feels just like a movie theatre, voices coming from the screen itself, my subwoofer off to the side heightens that. But again, in a pinch, the built-in speakers are fairly decent and if the projector was in the middle of the room it would sound even better.
Things I don't like:
Limited HDMI inputs
Android TV built in and is the "default" every time you startup (heard somewhere there might be a way to remove it and recover that HDMI)
Difficulty keystoning, and the controls for fitting the picture are wonky and finicky.
Color settings are weird and confusing. Even badly named color presets.
Remote control sucks badly, volume control and other buttons you need frequently are barely separate from other buttons that mess up your viewing if accidentally touched. Can't seem to find a good remote replacement, nor even a silicone cover to protect this one.
It's boxy and not very flat, so challenging to transport and even to adjust because of the height to width ratio. A slight movement of the projector can lead to several minutes of trying to get it back to fitting perfectly on the projector screen.
I paid roughly $600 with discounts a few months ago, and overall I'm happy with how this fits my needs. Was salivating over investing in a $2,000-$3,000 "short throw"laser projector and was reading too many reports of them breaking down early- that's no investment. Although I sometimes miss the simplicity and reliability of my old SONY TV, the relative invisibility of my EF-12 setup and less dominance of screens in my home is successful as hoped. The reflective light is so much easier on my eyes over bright backlit television, again feels like a theatre. And changing to a projector means I have to do a little work and not just push a button- make a conscious choice to watch TV. This changes movie time into more of an event rather than just easy temptation to occupy my brain out of boredom or avoidance as so many people use it for.
