Same problem I had! Silly mute button. I got the new Nova and the first pair had a bad mic. Second pair works great. A lot of the "hardware" in the old one is now software based which is meh, but sound is better, battery is better, mic is clear… took a little tweaking and turning off most of the garbage AI noise stuff. If you really like the mic light, and the chat/general slider, there are not a lot of choices. Having the ability to play a game and talk on the phone at the same time is kinda neat. Overall, it's an upgrade, with some questionable software.
Oh I don't think mine does that now. I put the phone on speaker. I've had my current Arctis 7 since 2019, and I've really wanted to go to USB-C, but the comments about Steeleseries cheapening their build scared off. Last week the mute button just went wonky on me. I also want longer range but everything seems to have gone to glowy, RGB, and streamer focused where I just want sturdy, long distance and clear!

Two thoughts -
1) If you have the right little screwdrivers, its easy to open up the Arctis 7. Opening and playing with the mute toggle gave it a little extra life.
2) That only worked for me for a few months. In my personal experience, the Nova had a slightly longer range.
These are great headphones at this price. I don't typically like 3rd party apps but the GG software is solid. Steelseries nailed it with the cross platform, simultaneous Bluetooth + 2.4ghz, and the spot on sidetone/mic monitoring. I recommend!
Don't waste money on these. I got a pair and the sound quality is like listening to children screech every time there's a sharp noise. 0/10 would never recommend to anyone.
I agree I have them and they are terrible. They won't even turn on anymore.
I had a horrible experience with these. I went by all the great reviews... but none of the good points actually were true for me.
The sound out of the box was horrible. I had to download a specific app to try to get the sound to sound okay. The microphone was probably the worst part of the whole thing. All my friends noticed instantly that I had a new headset because my voice, according to them, sounded like static. No fix for that.
I had previously used the Xbox brand wireless headset, but those fell apart easily (sound was great). I ended up going with the Turtle Beach 600s and those worked great out of the box. No software needed. Even the packaging is bare bones and to the point lol
Any thoughts on this? Or recommendations for something else? I have a pair of wired headphones for music and a crappy headset for calls. I'd love to replace both with a single headset.

You can tune the eq with your pc. But yes, sibilants can be piercing

I have these the Nova Pro Wireless Audeze Maxwell I have a bunch not bragging I just like trying new ones these 7X are perfect for FPS and casual gaming they need calibration a solid EQ from Gadgetry Tech on YouTube and you're set excellent price range for a multi plat headset
You might need a new keyboard though. It seems like your punctuation keys are broken.
