Nothing better than bottom shelf ground coffee close to its expiration date.

Last time I ordered cheap coffee on Amazon it was close to the expiration date. I still placed an order for this one. This is the lowest per oz. I've ever paid. And ground coffee is still fine past the 'expiration' date.

This is a great deal. Coupon works for other coffee if you are not interested in this one.

Not a bad deal, even if it is close to expiration. Its probably not worth stocking up but 3 bags in the coffee rotation for $8 isn't bad.

If you get stale coffee Amazon will refund you. Usually they have you keep the product as well. Only once in about 50 coffee purchases have I had to do this with Amazon.

Love how they are advertising "Dark" roast. Like it's something to be proud of
Coffee reminds me of home brew beer in that regard. Heavy, dark stouts are the easiest to make because they're so forgiving and mask all kinds of ingredient and process shortcomings. Similarly, roasting beans until they're gushing oil may not produce anything award winning, but it certainly gets you a hearty cup of coffee. That's how the Starbuck's empire was built, in fact. I remember the self-grind, bulk coffee sections grocery stores in the 1990s where half the bins were French, Italian and Viennese roasts, and half of those were usually empty.

It does work though; you can briefly resurrect old coffee beans by running them through some roasting device again. Clearly, it won't be some delicate, balanced medium roast, but if you like strong coffee it does work; it's kind of like putting stale bread in the microwave though; you have to use it right away because it works only once.

I don't know why Starbucks still keep this branding but I'm glad they do. In the Seattle area, it's a reminder of a much simpler time just before Seattle degraded from jewel of Northwest country to just another self-suiciding, urban garbage dump.

What are they supposed to do? Not tell you the type of roast? I'd like to know whether it's light, medium or dark.
