Even though they appear to be exactly the same aside from paint job, one thing you would never think about is the casters. The higher weight capacity is likely due to the caster quality and build. The platform itself without casters flat on the ground could likely support 2 tons. The casters are the weak point. So each is rated to the casters.

I downgraded my work vehicle from a small Ford Transit van to an Equinox SUV and thought this might fold down and store on the deck area in front of the back seats to allow for my back hatch area to be used for cargo.
The only downside to it, was that me being 6' tall, the handle was awfully low, to push or pull it. My height is more in my legs, so I was having to bend over to "handle" it, so to speak. If I bought another one, I'd likely figure out a simple way to add a foot of extension to the handle.
