This receiver is butt compared to the LX305 / LX505 / NR7100. Spend the extra and get one of those.

I have a VSX-LX104 - the previous generation. And it has been solid. I also have two other Pioneer receivers dating back to the 1990s that still put out good sound - they just lack modern features. Or I'm egotistical and want the ELITE badge. 😅

Good deal for a solid receiver. But in all honesty, I use it as an amplifier without any HDMI input controls. The receiver matters less than quality speakers - unless you are doing pass-through video and other things that can deprecate.

My wife got pissed when I ran exposed wires. And I'm too cheap to pay someone and too lazy to learn how to run wires through the wall. So I run effectively a 3.1 setup with 2 Atmos speakers for the rears. Seems to be the sweet spot for anyone not wanting to run wires through drywall.

The auto-configuration is great. I have effectively a [ style living room, so tuning is difficult. It isn't perfect, but it did a solid job at adjusting for the left side being a wall and the right side being open space into the kitchen.
