The bad:
Neck has zero finish on it.- I took mine off sanded it and added 15 coats of Tru-oil to it. It turned out great.
Electronics- they are ok but the soldering was bad. I touched mine up with the soldering iron where it looked like joints would break.
The Good:
Solid electronics- this is all fender low end electronics but the pickups sound great
Fret work- better than expected. Only needed a few touch ups on fret ends
Setup- the nut is plastic but was setup and cut well. I didn't bother changing it yet because it is well done
Overall with a little work this is a good player.

I already have it in Surf Green or I'd buy a second at this price. If you are okay with the scale length, what are you waiting for? But it!

Proper strings would be thicker than stock, 11s or 12s.
Greatest guitar ever? Possibly. This is one of those
guitarsthings that everyone should just own as a common denominator, like a toaster or Post-its.It has been said everywhere that you want/need thicker strings to help it stay in tune and it is true. The shorter scale has increased tension on the strings and thus lighter strings are more susceptible to this tension. I sort of want another one just to put heavier strings and tune it to a baritone. In theory the tension should make it sound like a brighter, almost piano-like ring.
Someone in the comments mentioned using heavier strings which will help keep it in tune better which I presume is why the suggestion was made earlier on in the thread?
