Better audio and higher bitrate video. You also actually own a copy of the content and can't have it taken away from you when whomever you bought it through digitally loses their content license.

Of course you don't!
You're still stuck with inferior content especially on the AQ side, significant drop in quality.

I'm baffled why anyone buys solid media these days?

Because you truly don't own digital, you're just allowed to stream it. I get your point, but it's nice to have both formats, too. Here's an interesting read on the subject. https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutte...al-movies/

download a digital copy for free via bittorrent and own it forever. most of the people who made these movies are already dead so i have no reason to feel guilty lol

hmm i don't think so. there are plenty of high-quality 4k blu-ray rips out there. i'm not an audiophile though

lol piracy isn't theft. we're on slickdeals bud. a lot of the slickest deals posted on here are arguably theft. if you buy something that you know is a price mistake, you might as well be stealing from that company. same goes for anyone who makes multiple accounts to take advantage of deals that are intended to be 1 per customer. same goes for anyone who lies about getting married or having a baby to get a 15% registry coupon from target
Hmmm so if piracy isn't theft/stealing, what was the concern about not feeling "guilty"?

You can regularly find this set of movies on any of your streaming services?

Price mistakes aren't theft. There's literally laws for them to prevent bait and switches or false advertising

i mean you can argue that's it's depriving someone of income, even though i probably wouldn't have bought it if i couldn't pirate it, but making a copy of something is different from taking it. really though i'd never feel guilty about pirating a corporate product. i try to support small businesses and individual creators, but any sufficiently large corporation is inherently evil

maybe not legally, but ethically it's a gray area. it's like knowing a cashier accidentally gave you too much change back and deciding to keep it
