Looks forged to me, both from the picture and description.
If you're referring to "Cutlery Construction: Stamped" in the spec, note that it also says "details were provided by the Target Plusā¢ Partner. Target does not represent or warrant that this information is accurate or complete."
I got that even lower end set from walmart last week for $56 to give to my mom since anything would be better than her crappy 3 decade old made in china garbage. For 56 bucks that new made in china garbage doesn't seem half bad. I know people like to crap all over the non German made Henckels but most people aren't going to drop ZWilling prices on some knives. That being said, these seem to go for about 180 so it's not that huge of a savings but probably not a terrible deal for a decent looking set in the 100-150 price range.
Actual manufacturer retail is $239.99, not the boasted $626. Noticed that MSRP's in general are being padded, not just by Target, though. Typical sale price from Zwilling is $199.
Not the highest quality from Zwilling, but an acceptable set for starting out or sending to school with a kid. The idea of the sharpener built into the block is interesting.
This set is fine but, in general, knife blocks are a complete waste of money. The only knives you really need are a chef's knife and a serrated bread knife. A paring knife is nice as well. The rest of this is just superfluous junk that costs money and takes up counter space.
and Chinese not German,, not a chance would i use that pot metal to cut my food
Do you not eat out at restaurants then, or only the good ones that have discounts in their apps and don't require silverware? I like "good" knives too, but some of you guys are just pretty over the top.
Side question: is your avatar supposed to be ironic, or are you a fan of that literal crackhead conspiracy nut?
You don't have to buy everything, it's okay. There's a girls' bathing suit and a Fender Telecaster on the front page too, are you hating on those deals because you aren't a little girl and don't play guitar? Calm down guys.
So are Henckels and all these major retailers that sell this set conspiring to commit false advertising, or am I missing the technicality that is their out?
