The actual aerogarden is 6 slots. The tray with 23 slots is for seed starting. From the description on Walmart "Not to mention, the included seed starting system allows you to sprout up to 23 seedlings that you can easily take out of the garden and transfer into your outdoor beds when the soil is ready"
I got one of these prime day. I've only grown like 2-3 things at a time. The plants seem to over grow and steal light, don't feel like there's enough room to use all the slots. Otherwise it works as it's supposed to. Grown some good lettuce with it
you won't beat out industrial farms for value when it comes to produce, the real benefit is to have fresh herbs or similar, or to treat it as a hobby (it's fun to watch your plants grow).
"A lot of work" is imo a mischaracterization though and I'm a very lazy person. You just add water every few days, nutrients every 2 weeks. The main work is pruning and harvesting. If you add an Aerovoir (supplemental water tank) or make one on your own, you really only need to top up water when you add nutrients, which we're talking like 5 minutes every 2 weeks.

This can't be the same model as the amazon one. On the walmart one it shows 23? slots for seed pods. On the amazon one that is 6.

Thank you, excellent deal. This does drop to around this price several times in the year but I've been waiting to get one for my mother and mil. I find these are best for lettuce and herbs.

Can you use regular miracle gro for these? I'm trying to start a pineapple in a mason jar and thinking maybe it could use some nutrients lol
they recommend that you don't, something to do with
the miracle grow has fine crystals in it and will mess up the pump.
Aerogardens have their own nutrients to use in it.
Just a heads up from someone who owns this. It's a lot of work and cost for what you grow. Keeping track I could have easily bought the produce at the store for way cheaper without the constant water changing and adding the growing agent. It's nice to have but if your not committed to doing the work it will end up at goodwill which is a great place to buy one for 20 bucks

Can't speak about the pineapple thing, but using something like Maxigrow in these is much cheaper and easier. I don't think Miracle Grow is complete, unless they're making something specifically for hydroponics now.

The pod holes are only about size of a quarter. I like ur pineapple idea but i think it might b too big. Pineapple stem would have to fit through pod hole down a couple of inches to meet water level. These gardens armt designed to have water level right up to top. If u can get pineapple to root in mason jar first, u might be able to rig it into a pod hole on aerogarden. These come with a small bottle of nutrients that last a long time and wouldn't recommend anything other than a liquid nutrient due to pump. Id be interested if anyone else had any pineapple experience with these
