32GB of RAM is great for business and light workstation users, namely Excel, which can devour RAM. In general, having copious amounts of RAM gives you a lot of computing options. Coupled that with generous amounts of storage means you'll have a pleasant computing experience without worrying about performance. It's a great deal for a non-gamer.

Who cares about the screen resolution when the screen size is so small. Even if you had 4K on this screen, you'd be an idiot to have it set to 4K without scaling, which defeats the purpose of setting it at 4K. I prefer ThinkPads but this is a solid deal.
Battery lasting all the day is probably overstatement. 6-7 hour of mixed usage is what it does and with tiny 51whr battery you can't expect more than that.

I'm looking for a laptop that will be more for work (Office, SQL, Python machine learning) than gaming. Am I better of going with this laptop or the ASUS slickdeal (https://slickdeals.net/f/17444787-asus-rog-flow-x13-ryzen-9-7940hs-13-4-fhd-120hz-touch-16gb-ddr5-51...)? Or do I wait until I can find something better?
Honestly you were better off getting the Dell 16" a month ago for $450. Had the same specs minus the 16gm ram and was a touch screen. I'm actually surprised how the laptop in this thread is a deal. It was $599 minus Dell 10%, R cash back site 10% and Chase Dell cash back 5% for $450 total

Would this 12th gen u tier CPU be good enough for gaming at 60fps with an egpu?

The XPS 13 for $599 - still available - has an i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, 256 SSD, and Windows 11 Home. You are comparing the entry level version to top of the line specs.

I think the rog flow x13 will be better. I mean, it is a hard decision from one side, Dell you get 32 of ram, in the other side, flow x13, you get better cpu, ba much better igpu, touch screen 2 in 1 form factor and it is only $700 so $150 cheaper, 16 gb ram should be enough for most activities

I'm slow, I didn't see the fact that it was an XPS and not Inspiron, forgive me!

It's not as if scaling the UI is simply multiplying the existing pixels. I have a 13in 1080p laptop, it looks like ass. Some people don't mind that though.

this res is perfectly fine for a 13" screen. It's not "low".

typing on a much more superior m3 MacBook Pro right now than your xps..
Facepalm .... I'm crushed.... Oh well, different needs I guess. Actually my 13" XPS has 2x the resolution and touch, which while not the highest resolution possible, is still good enough for my needs. I have multiple lower res laptops like this deal, so I don't need or want any more, even with 32gb.

But enough about me, let's get back to you. Wow! Apple? A mac "Pro"? M3?. Wow!!! Does it go fast? Does it make vroom-vroom noises? Is it red? Was it free and/or did mommy buy it for you? Did it come with a sticker? Do you have an I-phoney too? You're really special!!!!

I'm trying my best to let you know how impressed I am with you and your "M3", but I'm kind of stuck on the part where you wrote "much more superior". I mean that's freakin illiterate and a clear sign of poor breeding, but it IS pretty funny. Wait a minute. Is this a comedy routine? Are you setting me up?

Oh well, assuming you're serious, here's a tip for you..... GED...... I think you can take it as many times as necessary until you pass.... Just remember to keep track of all your failed efforts and when you run out of fingers to count on, don't forget that you can still use your toes (God, I hope that's enough)... Good luck and don't give up! Wink

Or maybe you'd just be an idiot for not knowing that it does scale.....
