EDIT: this comment refers to the 13700HX 32 GB RTX 4060 version of the victus laptop
Decent price point for specs, I have this laptop and use it for work/occasional gaming. Sits on desk, plugged in with 3 external monitors 99% of the time.
Pros: excellent processor, lots of RAM (upgradeable), big screen with high refresh rate, second empty nVME slot (non-RAIDable)
Cons: battery life subpar, no thunderbolt, fans can be loud sometimes, screen only 1080p/300 nits
If you get this, I recommend finding the HP risk-free carepack on their website if you want an extended warranty + drops/spills protection. You can return the carepack if you don't use it after the extended warranty period (2 or 3 yrs) for a refund.
How is the build on the 4070? I read the 4060 version is all plastic. Also, does it have the battery power limiter. I read in some posts that the victus do not have it unlike the omen. Maybe the 4070 is a step up? PDW for the gpu?
I don't think I've ever seen a 4070 laptop with a 250 nit screen.
Then the 70Wh battery with a 13700h + GPU presents another issue.
It's a good price though. And Costco has a good return policy if these issues are bothersome.
Website said its oos, but I called and they confirmed that they have a few still sitting in the back. I went and got one for my nephew who will be going to college in a few months time and I was reluctant to give him my old Alienware laptop. Also paid an extra $100 for 5 years warranty total with Allstate.
This is a good deal on specs alone. I haven't had the best experience with HP laptops but it's been a minute since I've had one, and things evolve. When I was researching I was heard some people not happy with the thermals on theirs. Perhaps the 4070 helps because it's more efficient. If I hadn't just got a new laptop I would be eyeing this real close because the price for the specs is pretty good.

The previous thread you linked, as well as the thread I posted is for a different model, the 32 GB, RTX 4060, 13700HX version...
I posted this as a separate thread, mods merged it in to this one which is a mistake imo
Prob because I included it as a secondary deal in my OP. I included the 4060 link too but SD keeps removing it. I will try to add one more time.
edit: SD is so weird about their links...
The 4070 is OOS.
