mechanical keyboardand an extra robust cooling system, but is heavier and has worse battery life. This is good for people who use their laptop plugged in most of the time. Here's a review for a higher specced config: https://www.notebookche
Edit: the mechanical keyboard is a $50 option... My bad
I have a question. I own a Samsung S9+ Tablet that I use in DEX mode quite a bit because it's super fast and zippy along with a beautiful OLED display. But since it's not windows based I found out real quick that it can't do some things, like Fully edit PDF's in adobe which I do for work.
So I was hoping to find a laptop in the $800ā$1000 range that is going to be just as fast with a high quality display. Would this laptop be as zippy as my S9+?

Except for being too heavy (typical Dell gaming laptops), it's fully stacked with specs and features a laptop wants.
Good screen, vapor chamber, IR camera. Also, for $50 more you can get the low profile mechanical keyboard.
Recommended for people who leave the laptop at home most of the time as a desktop replacement.
However, the RAM on website says 4800 instead of 5200.
And it says "2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-CĀ® ports with DisplayPort for computers shipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, RTX 4090, and AMD RX 7600M XT graphics card", I don't know if it means the 4060 version also has 2 USB-C ports without DP functionality, or no USB-C port at all which would be pretty bad.

I chatted with a Dell rep, and it does not include any Gen 2 ports with DP. It does have 2 Gen 1 ports and a mini dp port.
For me I'd go with the Asus because of weight. This thing is 7 lbs!

The specs with the 4060 say 1 mini-Display port in addition to 2 USB 3.2 Gen and 1 of those has PowerShare. Never mind, I understand what you're saying and not sure myself although the pictures show that it has USB-C ports.

I'd agree. I just ordered a Legion 5 Slim 7840HX / 4060 open box excellent from Best Buy for just under $1k. Price went up today but it was a steal for a thin and light gaming laptop. They go on sale pretty regularly.
