I wouldn't say the screen is awesome. Sure, the color range is great, but it's not OLED, it's not miniLED, it's not even that great of an IPS. It's only 300 nits. Competing gaming laptops have 500 nits IPS screens, also with 100% DCI-P3. Or step up to a miniLED and get 100% DCI-P3 plus 1000+ nits brightness.
I'm not saying 300 nits is a bad maximum brightness, it's acceptable, but it's certainly not awesome.
Also, only two display outputs isn't great. Nearly all gaming laptops have 3 video outputs, if not 4. Even that Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (RTX 4050, 16GB DDR5) laptop that has been continually on sale for $683 for months now has 3 video output ports. Plus a 400nits screen.
I have a question. I own a Samsung S9+ Tablet that I use in DEX mode quite a bit because it's super fast and zippy along with a beautiful OLED display. But since it's not windows based I found out real quick that it can't do some things, like Fully edit PDF's in adobe which I do for work.
So I was hoping to find a laptop in the $800‐$1000 range that is going to be just as fast with a high quality display. Would this laptop be as zippy as my S9+?
I also use dex but on a s23. This laptop would smoke the s9+ in every category besides portability/weight/size/battery life and not OLED screen but the screen does seem to be better than average with 240hz refresh rate

You'd be well served by a Samsung book series laptop- AMOLED is not just any OLED. I went Aliexpress to buy a cheap OLED monitor and quickly regretted it. Basically your eyes now see quality that cannot be undone.

I agree. This screen could have been better quality at a lower resolution and refresh rate, and that would have been a better use of the budget.
Cooling
Upgrading from old Alienware 1060 6gb i5 6300hq laptop.
Am very excited.
