I was thinking about getting this one last week so I could have an odometer and speedometer directly in front if me without having to look to the right https://a.co/d/4aCNY9r
Any Tesla owners try the MagBak charger + mount? I've been looking for a solid mount for my Y but there's so many different cheap, crappy looking mounts out there- not sure which to finally pull the trigger on.

It very much annoys me when they call these "Magnetic Power" or "MagSafe"....this is NOT a charger...it is a holder/mount only.
I agree with you. But I'm not sure what the right answer is.
It is really helpful to be able to put "magsafe" in search parameters and find things like this. Even if it doesn't charge. And as a nerd in the know, I can easily spot the difference between items with charging or not. On the other hand, tech moves fast and I think it's unfair to expect everyone to keep up with the ridiculous amount of specs and marketing that pops up daily. It wouldn't be surprised if the items rating took a ding because people returning it for being mislabeled.
At least it is better than USB-C. As much as I like the connector, the labeling and identification of cables is horrendous. I don't know how anyone can keep track of which cables handle which data and power speeds. I'd gladly pay $.50 more per cable if they'd include a label showing its specs.

Mounted-on-screen plastic brackets that goes over the entire top of the screen and then has a eyeglass holder, and right and left side mounts that has that circular ball. Because it's sitting on top of the screen, it's super secure even if I go over very big bumps.
Then I bought a magsafe CHARGER mounted on that ball - the magnet was advertised as strong magnet. Then my iphone case also has extra strong magnet so my phones stays put no matter what happens.
this is the only way for me to get a super secure mount that handles a iphone 15 pro max
Mind you I did this 2+ years ago so there may be newer mounts that works but I'm not willing to change my setup because it just works.
Glue will fall off eventually especially on HOT DAYS
Suction cup based - same thing.
I see there a newer "strong magnet" ones, I'd bet they will fail on iphone 15 pro max when the car is moving around a bit violently.
cabling - then I route the usb-c charging cable behind the screen to the right side and plug it into the usb-c port. I have a usb-c expansion that gives me top-access of 2 USB-A and 2 USC-C ports. I got it on temu, you can find it on amazon probably. I hate reaching into the middle well to plug in something plus the cable connector sticks out and makes the storage well less useful and I was always hitting the cable connector when I reached for something. I use the usb-a ports for a small portable usb fan when I need some extra cooling to redirect the air where the normal vents cannot hit hard enough or reach.
I didn't buy the one with cable built in because many came with 1 lightning port which is useless as tits on a bull for me so I opted to just have ports so I can have 2 usb-c connections. I think only *1* usb-c port will run 25-30w though which is fine to plug in a laptop to charge. I can always use the usb-c on the back passenger vent or cigarette lighter if I am really desperate to charge more than 1 device. I never use the under the screen charging, so useless.
I wouldn't do It. It's going to get very hot during summer (the magnets will heat up as well, already as a non-charging mount). Then you're adding Qi2 wireless charging? Maybe during winter but...

edit: see below
I just checked (as in the past they didn't have this) but now they have Peltier-MagSafe chargers: https://www.amazon.com/Charging-C...0BQ3J1DTG/
Get a generic ball-mount for the Tesla screen, then remove the mount and add this instead
