Na, I have both the gen 1 and gen 2... Steelseries really effed it up by making it really dependent on GG engine/sonar. Also the fact that they never fixed the USB timeout/power saving issue that causes the DAC to stop mixing properly is annoying... A lot of tweaking and settings need to be changed by a power user, this device is not that user friendly for beginners

No, this one has gotten buggy for me unfortunately. Needs to be unplugged with the dials and LED not responding. Don't have any issues with mixamp pro 🤞

My 2 cents

edit: I have a gen 1 DAC, nevermind

That's a real bummer, I was hoping they'd be able to drive higher end headphones as there are only 2 options for dac amps on xbox.

How well would this work as a dac/amp just for music on a PC, not a gamer - just need more volume from my headphones

See my edit, I have the Gen 1 Steel series gameDAC. Maybe the new Gen (this product) was released to combat the strange bugs I was experiencing? This is the reason I bought the mixamp pro TR

Can someone convince me why I would need this? Currently using a wireless headset on PS5, I assume this basically does nothing for my set up, right? Also, the general concept of this product confuses me; doesnt ps4/5 compress audio from the source? How does this thing "improve" audio quality when the source is already compressed to the tits?

Now if I can find a driver that treats it as a simply USB axis, and assuming it has some weight to it, that could be a nice little Tempest controller.

OLED are VERY common for very small (1") displays with good brightness and great contrast.

Tons of products use little OLEDs like this. BTW burn in isn't really a thing on a monochrome display like this. You only notice burn in (which is actually just the slow decay of an OLED pixel over time) because there is only one color and the relative pixel brightness's aren't quite so noticeable without color.

We put these kind of displays on a lot of embedded portable products and medical wearables.

Bought one at $70 on woot a month ago. Works great. Was comparing this to the mixamp and went with this. Have been impressed. (Use mine for Xbox)
