Amazon, for some weird reason, has the Takeya Sport Helios pickleball paddle in 16mm standard or long for a huge discount. These are normally $100 paddles. The standard handle is $33.85 and the long handle is $38.64. It shows them as preorders, which is strange because they've been out for about 6 months.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...th=1&psc=1 > Now only long for $38.64

Anything with T700 raw carbon fiber will perform well. That's become the standard in pickleball. And if it's advertised as being "thermoformed" or "unibody construction with edge foam," even better.

There are two "cheap" $50 paddles on Amazon that are pretty much on par with the $200 paddles; they're probably even made in the same factory. One is the Garye Pro XL, the other is the Sport Beats Deft 1. You don't get a warranty with them, but paddles today are built really well anyway.

If you're wanting name brand, highly recommend the Vatic Prism Flash 16mm. You can get it for $99 on Amazon.
I'd recommend beginners to just go get a $10 kit off Amazon that comes with two fiberglass paddles and some balls. Then if you like it, buy some better ones and give the $10 ones to friends so they start playing too.

No. Fiberglass is old tech. You can get cheaper paddles that outplay this one

I just bought a juciao from aliexpress as well and it looks really promising... Not a lot of reviews but the people who have them love them.

this seems like the better deal for $33.

I bought a juciao paddle as well. Enjoy the quality. Tempting to get another one just to see what I'm missing out on.

FYI this deal is not expired. The standard version went back to $99, but the long handle is still available for $38.64.

I'm not sure. I started out with the Amazon pack and almost gave up. My friend let me try his paddle with some grit surface and I liked the game much more because I had more control and spin. I am now using a $35 paddle from Temu and can compare with his $150 paddle.

The Takeya site doesn't even list paddles (anymore?). My guess is they're discontinued and clearing out old stock.

Takeya is a water bottle brand that tried and failed to venture into the paddle market. Not bad as a backup but there are so many cheap paddles it's not worth it to me. Go with the Friday $50 paddle for updated tech.

A word of caution for Juciao: they're direct clones of nicer paddles at a fraction of the price but are NOT tournament sanctioned. Fine for rec play though.

I have the Vatic and Friday Pickle paddles as well as a SLK Halo and I love all of them but for sustainability and buying my whole family decent paddles that perform well in tournaments, league play and rec play - I highly recommend the Vatic or Friday both have held up and if in the future they should fail, it's not as expensive to replace as say some of the higher end paddles -- I haven't tried the Garye Pro but I will definitely look into them - always up for low cost but high performance paddles to put in my paddle rotation
Where do you buy these? What models?

FridayPickle.com they have a 2 for $99 deal -- carbon fiber thermoformed w/ a 99 day happiness guarantee
VaticPro.com (also available on amazon)

SLK Halo is Selkirk's first carbon paddle - they do have a carbon vanguard now but it's a higher price range.
The halo is around $140 regular price, so if you find a price lower than that on a reputable site jump on it.

All of these sites offer free shipping and the paddle usually arrives within a week or so of ordering - But always check availability on Amazon as well

I drill, play rec leagues & open play with the Friday - I've won numerous tournaments with the Halo & the Vatic never disappoints -- if I miss a shot, it's not the paddles fault HA!

I have 2 different Juciao paddles - the T700 one, which is all black with the company name running up the side in white. It appears to be the second (?) most expensive one on AE. I also have the all black one with the small blue "CJ" logo near the handle. I definitely prefer the more expensive one the but the cheaper is pretty solid too.

Bought a pair of Joolas from Sam's for $65 (for the two) to replace a pair of cheapo's that my wife bought at Home Goods! Honestly I can not tell much of a difference other than a better handle. Definitely go with an inexpensive paddle if you are starting and the Sam's Joola's I would call inexpensive. Still on sale:

Stick with the top selling paddles on there, they should all be T700 (surface material)

Those Joolas sold at Sam's, Costco, etc. are the cheaper, budget ones - probably in the same category as the ones your wife purchased, just marked up due to brand name.
