So I bought the prior year model A80CK (Costco's A80K model) refurb'd from Secondipity for $1,050 about a year ago now and I'm in a room with a decent amount of natural light and it still seems very bright to me. I prefer Sony TVs because of their build quality and I'm very happy with it. The XR 4K upscaling is fantastic too. Just my two cents 🤷
Good deal. Keep your cat away from your TV. Check out various Reddit posts where cats destroyed, chewed on, or scratched OLEDs.

Here's one for example.

If you can get your hands on one. No targets in my area had stock yesterday, I bet most are out of stock nationwide by now

Smoking deal. I've bought plenty of refurbs from Microcenter, like-new. Can always add screen protection for added security.

Is this Sony model really still that much better at upscaling content than the LG C3?

Asking sincerely since I do watch a lot of content on TV like sports. And I think ESPN is always 720p

Only issue I see is apparently it's much dimmer than competitors from LG & Samsung

I would definitely go with Sony if I didn't pick up c3 for the same price yesterday at Target.

I also consider the LG and Samsung because I subscribe to nvidia GeForce go and Amazon luna. Otherwise wouldn't mind Sony at all.

Also with Sony - I heard there's no Atmos and the HDR formats are not well supported? Just started doing research so I'm not completely sure that's all right

I've had OLEDs for nearly 10 years now and my cats have never shown an interest in scratching or otherwise messing with them.

I'm not saying it's guaranteed to happen, but for some odd reasons cats can't resist OLED panels. I'm glad you've been lucky thus far.

Nice description, including the comparison between the two TVs.

Concerned that the TV could be refurbished from a store demo unit. Is there a way to check the usage hours or how long the display has been turned on for this TV? Or can the hours be reset to 0 making this a moot point?

Dim ass tv. Avoid.
What would you recommend instead at this price? Leaving aside the C3 at target since that was very YMMV

I got 2 of these referbs from Microcenter and both were defective. One had two clusters of dead pixels and the other had scratched screen. Return was easy, but these were refurbished for a reason. I guess YMMV
