I picked one up yesterday and it looks and operates like brand new. Mine came in the original box with some electrical tape over some serial numbers and "Refurbished - 90 Day Warranty Applies." Otherwise, like new.

The LG C3 was recently the same price at Microcenter, but I prefer the Sony for a number of reasons which may make it more appealing to you, too. First, the Sony's stand is height adjustable. Second, the Sony's built-in speakers are much, much better. Third, Google TV is miles ahead of WebOS. Fourth, the remote is much, much better than the Magic Wand. Fifth, Sony's video processing is much better on the 720P and 1080P content that will make up most of your TV watching. Finally, Sony just builds better TVs than anyone, in my experience. Yes, the panel is LG, but the caps and soldering are still Sony quality.

The LG, on the other hand, has four HDMI 2.1 inputes vs. 2 on the Sony. It gets a little brighter, and the anti-reflective coating is more effective. Both are great sets, but the Sony at this price was too tempting to pass up.

Microcenter offers extended warranties on these. I may pick up the 3-year with screen protection - I have a cat and he is very, very stupid. As usual, this is in-store only, so YMMV.

Good luck!

So I bought the prior year model A80CK (Costco's A80K model) refurb'd from Secondipity for $1,050 about a year ago now and I'm in a room with a decent amount of natural light and it still seems very bright to me. I prefer Sony TVs because of their build quality and I'm very happy with it. The XR 4K upscaling is fantastic too. Just my two cents 🤷
Good deal. Keep your cat away from your TV. Check out various Reddit posts where cats destroyed, chewed on, or scratched OLEDs.

Here's one for example.

If you can get your hands on one. No targets in my area had stock yesterday, I bet most are out of stock nationwide by now

I wouldn't say way better 😅 This is not 90s or early 2000s any more. Besides Sony uses LG panels. Sony just does color representation better than others and that's it. They do charge extra for that.

Edit: I currently own both Samsung, LG and Sony and I like them all.
I'm talking about my experiences from 2010+, and there are still reliability issues from large manufacturer like LG and Samsung. If something lasted 3+ more years comparing to its competition, then yes, it's still way better. LG panels are being use by many companies, but there are other components such as processing boards, power supply boards, etc. The panel really means nothing in term of quality because it's still an unfinished consumer product, the whole TV is. I like LG monitors and washer/dryer, those products are reliable. But their Refrigerators and TV are not at the same level, My co-worker have the same experience with LG TV that died within 3years.

LG and Sony have Dolby Vision on their OLEDs. Samsung doesn't.

sony's android software on these tvs are a horror show. i would stay away even though I love sony products.
I had nothing but Sony TVs. The little experience I've had with the native android OS was pretty lackluster. I however never use it because I always use my chromecast. Picture quality seems nice to me. I would say just get a chromecast and you're golden.

I picked up the 77 inch version at my store for 1600. I got it home yesterday and so far it is working great. It's a great price compared to what it would cost to buy new.

My LG TV died within 3 years. The only thing that was worse was the TCLI replaced it with. athat lasted only 1.5 years before getting a giant black hirizontal line running from left to right. I just replaced it with a Sony and have my fingers crossed...

Is OLED tv better or worse in terms of eye strain for little kids?

My LG C1 lasted about 2.5 years, 4660 hours to be exact, panel was replaced on Saturday as a courtesy out-of-warranty repair by Lg at no cost. Now the tv looks brand new again, however I still prefer my Sony A80K! Never had any problems with it

My 13 YO Sony BRAVIA is dying, so I need a replacement. The nearest MC is an hour away and I just can't take the chance that the refurbished unit I buy needs to be returned.

I read ***CL denotes for costco? Does that mean that this model is a returned product from Costco?
