Remember, discount tire will price match both Sam's and Costco. Even the free installation. They have the same road hazard protection. Though you have the option to purchase even better protection. Always get it done at discount tire. You'll get better service and incredibly quicker. You'll be done before even Sam's or Costco sees your car.

Also, if you're going to use this deal, you should call your local store and get things scheduled for the weekend of 5/3 - 5/5.

I called and was transferred to a "centralized" tire & battery center representative. She checked my tire size and placed an order for me that I will pay for on my scheduled appointment on 5/3. She made the appointment for me, everything was pretty smooth. Highly recommend that approach.

That's how Sam's is now. They have an overseas call center setting up the appointments. Sometimes you might struggle understanding the person on the other side of the world, but I think it's better than the Tire Center employees never answering the phone at the store.

I thought the installation is free at discount tire, but then you have to spend ~$40 for the warranty/certificate for each tire?

Walmart for some reason has been crushing prices on tires, if you don't need Michelin, etc. and you're okay with Douglas or something like that. Walmart+ includes road hazard for free. Worth a look. For me Walmart has been close to half price of what Sam's has been running.

I believe this is the one where you can go in store and pay during this time period and then schedule installation. This has to be paid for during these dates, that is all. If you order online it will not charge you until installation.

I believe the price for the warranty depends on the price of the tire. Last time I purchased tires the warranty was $22 per tire

One thing that might matter (I'm not sure) if you are one of those slick people like me that change their email to get the discount on membership every year your tire warranty may be only valid with the email that you used when you purchased the tires. Citation may be needed if they still roll this way.

You can use the +sams gmail trick and reuse the same email in the 3rd year to make the warranty eligible again, given the tires have no issues in the 2nd year. Or just purchase a cheap regular membership for the 2nd year using the same email

Sure, if you won't be driving in areas where there isn't a Sam's. Discount Tire is in almost every city, or thie America's Tire.
