Completely agree. No idea how it holds up today, but it was terrific on the PS3.

Also came here to say I had a blast with this game. Only thing I didn't like was the frequent language. But man it was fun & beautiful and just felt like a 90's arcade game. Just had a memory of being able to jet ski across water or something in one of the levels and that was super fun.

If you're a fan of Andy Serkis, he plays the lead male character.

Frequent language? As in they say naughty words that offended your Christian proclivities?

I played this back on x360 though 5-6 years after it was released and I was genuinely shocked at how much I enjoyed it. A lot it is how well done the atmosphere is. Its got that sorta cinematic gameplay you find in stuff like Last of Us and Uncharted where when there is action it feels meaningful and a center piece instead of procedural filler.

The only thing Id warn people about is that while the ending is satisfactory its very obviously a jumping off point for a series that never happened so you're gonna be like "dang thats it?".

Had no more language than a PG-13 movie.

Good story/characters/voice-acting.

Gameplay was less good, and probably holds up even less well today. I seem to recall it was basically Prince of Persia on automatic mode: the platforming is high on spectacle but Monkey will basically do all the fancy acrobatics between platforms as long as you hold forward. It wasn't quite as satisfying as in, say, Sands of Time, where you feel like you're pulling it off yourself.

Also, the combat was pretty clunky, and there's way too many waves of robots you need to beat down.

Probably worth picking up at this price, but you could easily skip the dated gameplay and just watch a "movie" version on YouTube of someone stitching together all the cutscenes.

I had played this on xbox 360 back in the day. It was way ahead of it's time Graphics wise and I just bought this a month ago but this time one for PC, they did some graphical update, it looks like it was made just in recent years. No matter how bad you are in gaming, you can't lose easily in this game though some bosses are tricky at times but can be defeated easily without having to look for youtube or online guides.

It just sounds unintelligent and lazy. Frequent language... Not bothered by it in its entirety. For example, I dislike dialogue in helldivers 2. They just say "for freedom" and "for democracy" over and over and over. It's like the producers had CNN on in the background as they made this ... It's lazy and annoying. Nothing offensive about it. Games haven't been able to produce catch phrases like they used to. Good ol Duke nukem. Mortal combat. Even Link's fairy in zelda. They all have sound clips that are unforgettable in a good way.
