Nice. AT&T rep stopped by our neighborhood to notify us fiber is coming soon. Will bookmark and hopefully this deal will still be present. Finally got something else to choose other than Spectrum. Now can bounce between the two without going thru the hassle of going thru hops to get promo deals.
Most of you will not get the reward just like me. After getting the internet services, they said 'because you are eligible for some amazon echo bundle, you will not get the rewards card'.
Beware. ATT breaches their fiber contracts and raises locked in rates along with adding equipment fees (years) later when their equipment breaks and replacements are sent. I have a lifetime locked $70 1G Fiber, 5 years later it jumped to $103 as they decided to change over 2,000 peoples plan in our area without notice. Same service just new plan name and higher price. I fought this all the way to the top, ATT doesn't care. They will rather pay a lawsuit later and capture sales today.
Had Xfinity service for 12 yrs and paid for unlimited 1gb service for about 6 of those years. Switched to ATT Fiber last month… faster speed for $20 cheaper than Xfinity. Double the download speed to 2+gb/s and 60x upload speed from a measly 40mb/s to about 2.4 gb/s.
A couple computers networked with a 2.5gb switch. Speeds are incredible! Will eventually upgrade to 5gb plan in the future once WiFi 7 standards are finalized and hopefully MOCA 3.0 is released.
I have my own Mesh System (ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET-12) for up to WiFi 6e 6ghz coverage wire backhauled with MOCA 2.5. Although I can say, the ATT Modem/Router has pretty good coverage in my 2 story 2800 sq' house. Just doesn't have the 6ghz band for WiFi 6e.
Been super happy with the service thus far! Waiting for my gift cards to come in the mail.
Note… I wasn't necessarily unhappy with Xfinity internet service, but they inexplicably increased my monthly bill by $30 because of the voice plan that I did not want and conversely wouldn't let me cancel. The ATT guy just happened to put a flyer on my door… rest is history.
Note 2… for those that are looking into other Fiber internet like Verizon FiOS… apparently ATT owns the services and "rents" it out to other companies. From what the technician said. Not that I cared. ATT is the only Fiber in my area
Some people complained on reddit that when they received the GC, the value in them was 0, and At&t support couldn't help them. For me, this was not the case. I got $250 worth of GC, but they promised me a Harman Kardon Studio Onyx 8, which is still on backorder. It's been 6 months now.
I have ATT Fiber. In the last 3 months it has developed insane packet loss so bad it kicks me off zoom ("unstable connection"), and say goodbye to playing any online games. Makes the entire thing unusable. In order for them to get someone out to look at it, despite them being able to see the problem remotely, I had to spend 45 minutes with a barely English speaking guy who asked questions like had I restarted my computer. Then they are charging me $99 for a service fee with the promise that they will waive it if they are at fault.
The appointment is today. Will report back.
