If you have a Microcenter nearby, you can get the 12900K CPU for $141.75 when you combine with a motherboard and RAM. I just bought it with an open box Z790 DDR4 Auros board for $115 and some throwaway DDR3 ram stick for $6 as I have plenty of DDR4 ram already. So for a total of under $263 I got the CPU and motherboard.

How so, the only deal I saw for it was the bundle with the standard size atx board.

I was playing around adding different open box boards and noticed that thier system drops the CPU price when you add a (compatible?) board and ram. Just add the 12900k CPU to cart and add whatever cheap board you want and cheapest ram possible if you already have enough ram.
