"The warranty excludes damage caused by misuse or wear from everyday use, including, but not limited to, burns, scratches, dents, discoloration, or staining. Additionally, the warranty does not cover damage or loss from fires, overheating accidents, soaking, dishwasher use, neglect, misuse, or theft."

The finish flaked off before it made 4 trips through the dishwasher. Amazon has many photos of this type of damage.

Amazon says "wash with hot water, mild soap and a gentle sponge"

Yeah you should hand wash these. Never had any issue with finish flaking off. Easy enough.
