Picked one up from Best Buy. Thanks for sharing.
I had this, and gave it up for the newest gen of the Beats Studio Pro over the ear headphones.
I regretted it.
I'm going back to these because everything is just done better with the airpod pros.

Looks like Best Buy has a trade-in when buying. I have old AirPod that were gifted to me but I've questioned if they are real. Will Best Buy be able to tell me during the trade-in?

I bought the Costco ones a couple weeks ago because my gen 1's case stopped charging and $99 to replace it seemed stupid.

The 2's have significantly better noise cancellation. I like the find my case feature also. Sound seems about the same though I didn't have any complaints with gen 1. If noise cancellation is important this is definitely worth the upgrade.

I have been interested in getting these for the active noise cancelling alone. I have decent Sony headphones with ANC, but have been looking for true wireless earbuds with this feature.

Yes they will eventually figure out you gave them fake airpods the same way you did, but probably not at best buy. It'll get shipped somewhere else and inspected.
