Performs better than I expected and the thermals have been good while running it thru the paces. I think the 4070 is kind of key for my use case because I'm able to get GPU output (rendering, gaming, AI training) while keeping the thermals good. I've seen others with 4060s that were getting throttled quite a bit on similar tasks that I do, so the 4070 seemed like the safe bet. 4080 would obviously be a big step from that, but it is a bit overkill for money difference my use case.
This post still a good machine, and if I didn't rely as much on GPU and was primary using it as full mobile the screen and such this would be a big selling point. The screen on the TUF is nothing to get excited about, but plenty functional for my use case even when not running ext monitor.
It seemed like TUF had a bad rap for a while about build quality on older models but I have no complaints and came from a Nitro Black that was built like a brick shat house. Time will tell tho, it's only been like a month of abuse and my other laptops have stood up to years abuse.
