The Mexicans I know, aka my family, use (regular) Lawry's to season their carne asada. It's what I grew up on and what I still use. Never tried this flavor but I've been eyeing it for years.

I can't vouch for the "authentic mexican food" part, but this is a fairly salty taco seasoning type spice mix. I like it a lot, and I use it for making fast chicken, pork, or beef tacos in a frying pan. It's seasoned salt with some cumin, chili powder, garlic, etc. There's not much lime/citrus flavor. It works well with some actual limes or else something like low sodium Tajin seasoning for making tacos and stuff.

The one warning I would give with this product is that you should be careful before adding anything else with lots of salt, as this already has a lot of salt.

I would NOT use it to make actual carne asada on a grill, but that's just my opinion. I think they would have been better off calling this "Mexican style seasoned salt"

Again, I really like it, but I don't exactly have the most refined tastes.

Squeeze of lime, regular lawrys seasoned salt, ground black pepper, half a sliced onion, and if youre already buzzing half a can of beer for you and the other half in carne asada mix. This stuff is not all that bad though if youre in a hurry..

A local carneceria uses this

https://www.amazon.com/Chef-Merit...YXRm&psc=1

The guy told me use only little bit(salty) and marinate steak with a mix of it with sunny d or orange juice

Marinated with a little bit sunny d or orange juice
Yes, the secret to marinated carne asada meat at the Market is the Orange Juice.
( btw, I usually do the marinate myself as they tend to use old meat to marinate and hide the smells )

This one is very, VERY "lime forward".

I wouldn't use it on any meat that isn't being paired with a starch.

However, it's great for a chelada and I'm pretty sure a lot of restaurants use it for rimmed margaritas.

I use this on grilled chicken alongside a bit of MSG for flavor enhancement.

Unless they totally changed the recipe on this in the past six months, it has a very prominent lime flavor.
What?

Yes, when I asked my friend for a recipe she laughed at me and said no one she knows makes it, they just buy it at the market. Lol! But she did end up asking the guys at the market for me and the two main ingredients I remembered were Chef Meritos and Sunny D or Tampico. She told me other ingredients, but I don't always have that on hand and just make sure I have those two.

I bought one of the Lawry's one to try as I love the taste of lime on steak.

Thanks for the heads up, something about artificial cirus taste, prefer to drizzle the tacos with fresh lime.
