Very dumb question, but would this work for Minecraft/Roblox type gaming?

8 year old is asking for a PC and real set ups are waaaaaay financially out of the question.

Should be fine with the integrated graphics at 1080p medium for those games.

This may help. And there are YouTube videos on this specific topic as well. The 5600G has pretty capable onboard graphics, and does well with lower end gaming.

Is this a good deal? Thinking about getting it. My current desktop is old and locked by bitlocker and I can't seem to find the account associated with the desktop.

The one for 40$ more is such a better deal. Includes the optical, 1tb more storage, 4 gb more ram and a better psu for $40. 12gb is cutting it these days.

In the current desktop market, I don't see anything comparable in the sub $300 range. This AM4 socket CPU is last generation but has excellent benchmarks for this price range. I'm pretty sure that it will wow you for the money spent if you pull the trigger.

Agreed on all points. People like the lowest price, but the $319 one is the better value and is the one I'd choose.

Thanks for the Update
I just picked up a little older HP Pavilion Desktop PC TP01-1247c I5-10400 8gb ram 2 TB HDD for $161 from gonzalezglobal/Desktops. This processor is 25% slower, but over $100 cheaper it will work. I still have an RX480 on the shelf and an extra 500gb NVME along with the 310W PSU and 8 gig ddr4 from the other build (I upgraded to a 400W)
I'll have 2 nice little 1080P gamer's here shortly

I'd like to point out that if a gfx card needs 150watts. You need to shoot above that. If the power supply is older or the bargain bin stuff used in these computers designed to run cash registers at business. You have to factor in the likely hood that even if 310 watts were enough that its high likely hood it draws 310 watts from the wall an not outputs it's. Unless you have like a super high end platnium or gold power supply, it's probably gonna run at 80% what it draws.

An i didn't take a look at its insides; but I know modern dells I seen look like this way, an in the past other companies have proprietary power supplies. which means it uses a different form factor an you'll never find an upgrade if it does.

Definitely the smaller one is just to browse the web an or most likely these are sold in bulk as cash registers an at data processing /call center work computers..

Also most people's gfx cards are better than the original overprice stock of whatever model. So when looking it up if you wanna add up what you need an have a 20% overhead ; make sure you factor in the likely hood your gfx card is probably better than the stock reference model vs the other 50 versions of it which almost always are better thus drawing more power

Yes they do restock, but you still have to be quick if you want one. They nearly always sell out in a day or two. I bought from this seller on April 15 and have nothing but good things to say about them.

It took the seller a couple of weeks to replenish stock of the $279 ones. My guess is that he will have the $319 ones in stock again soon. I keep an eye on his offerings and will post it if I see it's available.

I have actually already done all that.
It is a proprietary power supply with 4 different models to choose from
180, 310, 400 and a 500. all can be bought off eBay new under $70 in most cases.

Example if the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop shipped with a gtx 1650 it's likely a 180W PSU
If the same HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop shipped with a 3060 it will most likely have a 400 or 500W already installed. The systems are already built with the proper components.

The $280 one I bought (this deal) on 4/15
I upgraded with a 1660 Super and a 310w PSU never pulled over 190W from the wall
I have also upgraded the cpu cooler and replaced the 256gb NVME with a 1TB.

The 310w is labeled HP TP01 TE01 310W 80 Plus Gold PSU OEM Power Supply [ebay.com]
or the 400w
400W L04618-800 Power Supply Fit HP [ebay.com]
