Bought four Michelin Protek Cross 700c tires last month (two orders). Received $80 within one month via online submission. Final cost $2.50-$5.00 per tire plus applicable tax and shipping. Thread depth is 0.066", similar to the discontinued Michelin City. Protek Cross has more aggressive thread...reduce mileage to ~5000 miles at the rear.

Price went up $5/tire at biketiresdirect since last month. I'd hold off purchase till price goes back down below $25.

The "from participating U.S. retailer" wording is a bit concerning. For bicycle tires is this any US store that sells them, or is there a specific list somewhere?

Can anyone recommend which tires to get for a 700c road bike? Currently has gravel tires on it, and I'd like to put road tires on it

From their site:
"Bicycle Tires
Ask your local tire dealership for Michelin Bicycle tires OR
Amazon
BikeTiresDirect
WorldWideCyclery"

If you're looking for cheap, these are basically free after rebate:
https://www.biketiresdirect.com/p...assic-tire

I bought them during the last promotion, but I haven't tried them yet.

For motorcycles I would consider where you buy in case you don't have a way to mount and balance the tires. I usually buy from Cycle Gear for the discounted mounting. Keep in mind they charge you to swap rubber fill valves, so it's worth it to do a DIY swap to metal ones before taking them in. I got this rebate in September of last year and they approved my Cycle Gear receipt no problem.

Good deal and I may consider going back to foreign-made Michelin motorcycle tires. It's insane that I'm looking at around $600 for 2 Dunlop American Elite tires mounted for my Road Glide.

It's a lot more than the other guy posted.

I ordered from excel sports and performance bicycle in March, 3 pairs of bike tires and got my gift cards two weeks ago. I was prepared to argue about the local dealer as a catch all thing, but didn't have to.

Would all Michelin bike tires sold by Amazon qualify even if they do not specifically say "Sold by Amazon.com"?
